Founded in 2020 in response to Covid shutdowns, Underground Jiu-Jitsu 702 has been providing top-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training to the North Las Vegas community for 3 years. We are an official affiliate of Cascão Jiu-Jitsu Association which includes 6 academies locally in Las Vegas as well as a vast network of affiliate academies throughout the USA and Brazil. Our team of experienced and highly skilled instructors are dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels achieve their goals.  Each of our instructors has dedicated years training directly under Cascão Jiu-Jitsu Founder/CEO Walter Fontes Vital Jr. (5th degree Black Belt) and have all earned our belts/ranks from him.

Professor Ruben Delgadillo

Better known as Jona, he started his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2015 and earned his Black Belt from Walter Vital Jr. in 2022. Jona prides himself on being a 100% home grown Cascão Jiu-Jitsu athlete.  Jona has trained with Walter from White to Black belt and received each promotion directly from him. Jona founded Underground Jiu-Jitsu 702 in 2020 as his way of combating the ridiculous pandemic shutdowns and restrictions on gyms and social distancing. That is where our namesake Underground originates from. Jona is very passionate about Jiu-Jitsu and is a fierce competitor and coach. His accolades include multiple medals from IBJJF tournaments, NAGA, Jiu-Jitsu World League, BJJ Tour, and ADCC trials. Jona's entire family is actively involved in Jiu-Jitsu and all train here at UGJJ702.  

Professor Augusto Soriano

Known as the wrestler in the group.  Augusto (Ogi) is well-traveled and has trained in several different academies across the US due to his career.  After Wrestling Ogi took some time off and focused on his career and later found Jiu-Jitsu in 2009.  He earned his Black Belt in 2020 and is currently a First Degree Black Belt under Walter Vital Jr.  While Ogi prefers the No-Gi setting he has embraced the Gi scene earning wins at the Black Belt level in local and world level Gi and Nogi Tournaments.  When not training Ogi spends his time with his wife and two spoiled kids.  Ogi also holds a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys boxing.

Professor Chee Lim

Chee began his BJJ journey in Las Vegas in 2008 and earned his Black Belt from Walter Vital Jr. in May 2020. Chee currently holds rank of First Degree Black Belt and is officially recognized as such by the IBJJF as well as Beltchecker.com

Chee's accomplishments include multiple time Grappler's Quest/NAGA/Grappling Industries/IBJJF Medalist/Champion. Silver State Judo Champion

Chee serves the community as an ICU Nurse and is a family man. His two children also train here at UGJJ702.  

Professor Ramon Guzman

Born and Raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. Started Kickboxing in Hawaii when he was 12 years old. Moved to Las Vegas in 2001. He needed something for his kids to start doing and found Jiu Jitsu. He has 2 sons that are brown belt and a blue belt and a daughter that is an orange belt.  He started training after watching his two boys compete in tournaments and saw how much they enjoyed it. His Jiu Jitsu journey started in 2014. Got his blue, purple, brown belt under the cascao umbrella and recieved his black belt from Professor Jona in 2024. 

Coach Alma Romero

Alma is a BJJ Brown Belt and Co-founder of Underground Jiu-Jitsu 702 with her husband Jona.  In addition to being our amazing Strength and Conditioning Instructor, Alma is a responsible and dedicated mother of 3 children and an excellent role model.  Fitness, Weightlifting, and BJJ are activities Alma is particularly passionate about and she has dedicated several years on perfecting her skills and integrating these disciplines with great success.  Alma's focus has now shifted to sharing her knowledge and expertise with our team and community.  Whether your goal is to get in shape, complete in body sculpting, or improve your grappling with gains in strength and conditioning Alma is here to help you reach your goal.  Check out our Strength and Conditioning classes Mon-Fri @ 11AM.
